According to a warning from a former top US intelligence officer, China is ramping up its aggression towards Taiwan and is preparing to launch an all-out attack. The dire prediction comes from a former commander of the Office of Naval Intelligence and director for intelligence of the Indo-Pacific Command.
China’s President, Xi Jinping, considers it his duty to reunite Taiwan with the mainland, describing it as the core of national rejuvenation. In recent times, Beijing has been escalating the psychological pressure on Taipei by repeatedly sending its warplanes to breach Taiwan’s airspace.
In 2020, President Xi Jinping accelerated China’s military modernization plan, advancing significant milestones from 2035 to 2027. The objective was to upgrade the country’s military capabilities and provide more options for dealing with Taiwan-related issues.
As a result, the People’s Liberation Army built vast underground complexes, modernized and expanded its space assets, reinforced its aircraft and air defenses, and developed the world’s largest navy.
China has established a Strategic Support Force that combines space, electronic warfare, and cyber capabilities. Additionally, it has the world’s most advanced and active ballistic missile force.
China has invested heavily in improving its nuclear capabilities, which have been described as “breathtaking,” “explosive,” and a “strategic breakout” by the former commander of US Strategic Command.
The ex-navy commander stated that Xi’s focus on security over the economy signifies war preparation. Xi analyzed the impact of Western sanctions on Russia and implemented measures to ensure China’s economy can resist similar pressure.
