The word was God:
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The word was made flesh:
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
A modern so-called church that teaches progressive is not a church of God. Those who teach progressivism are trying to change the word of God or do away with it entirely.
Progressive so-called churches want to make God and his teachings conform to the modern world and the desires of modern men and women instead of the men and women conforming to the teaching in the Bible.
These so-called churches are worldly and are just meeting places for people like a club to join. It’s not just progressive churches but many churches in this modern time lack evangelism, prayer, outreach to the community, feeding the poor, and revivals and are active in worldly advents of sports, car shows, gun sales, worldly music, etc, etc.
The so-called Church in Tennessee says there open to the tensions and inconsistencies in the Bible, the church wrote “We know that it can’t live up to impossible, modern standards.
I have not seen any inconsistencies in the Bible in all the years I have studied it.
To say there are inconsistencies in the word shows they are unlearned and have not studied or lost. I have to believe both.
2 Peter 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
The so-called Church added that the Bible “isn’t: the Word of God, self-interpreting, a science book, an answer/rule book, inerrant or infallible.” Instead, the church argued, the Bible is “a product of the community, a library of texts, multi-vocal, a human response to God, living and dynamic.” In other words, as many churches have done, they don’t go by the Bible, but they make up their religion as they go.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
These types have a form of godliness but deny being godly.
One thing you can say about these worldly churches in this modern time is they fulfill prophecy that is over 2,000 years ago about the church at the end of the world.
2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2 Timothy 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2 Timothy 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2 Timothy 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2 Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2 Timothy 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
You must be born again by the word of God growing daily by its teaching as a baby takes milk and grows unto a mature adult in Christ.
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
To teach that the Word of God isn’t the Word of God proves they are not born again of the Word and are lost, living in darkness.
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 Peter 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
