I read an article that questioned whether all Christians have a guardian angel. The article was uncertain about the existence of guardian angels for Christians.
Their response was uncertain, suggesting that while the answer is maybe, children do have guardian angels.
I suppose they reason that you have one as a child, but it is considered unnecessary when you reach a certain age. I wonder at what age they think you lose that personal angel.
Once again, we see opinions being presented instead of the truth from the Scriptures.
Matthew 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
So let’s go to the scriptures and reason out the truth instead of opinions.
Angels are ministering spirits sent forth to minister to Christians.
Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
God’s chosen people are called “those who will inherit salvation.” Christians are called “heirs of salvation” because they are adopted into God’s family and treated as sons.
An heir is chosen to receive an inheritance, which usually occurs upon the death of the individual who willed it. Typically, the testator is a blood relative, so a legal heir is usually part of the family bloodline.
Christians who reverently fear God and angels camp around them.
Psalms 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
An angel has charge of you and will keep you in all thy ways.
Psalms 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Daniel in the Old Testament had an angel who protected him.
Daniel 6:22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
In a moment of divine intervention, Peter found himself liberated from the cold confines of his prison cell. An angel appeared before him, radiating a brilliant light that pierced into the prison. With a commanding presence, the angel spoke words of freedom, lifting Peter from his chains and guiding him towards a path of hope and redemption.
Acts 2:7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
Acts 2:8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
Acts 12:11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
When people went to the Christian’s house and knocked on the door, they thought it was Peter’s angel.
Acts 12:15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.
In the Old Testament, angels consistently come to the rescue of God’s people.
We are the sons of God, and I’m sure age has nothing to do with whether or not you have an angel.
If angels watched over the only begotten Son of God, do angels watch over the other sons and daughters of God?
1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Angels served and comforted Jesus in his time of need.
Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
Luke 22:43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
Matthew 4:11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
We don’t worship angels or bow down to them, but they are about God’s work, ministering to us.
Revelations 22:8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
Revelations 22:9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
Colossians 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind.
As interesting as angels are, we serve Jesus, the only begotten son of God, not angels.
Hebrews 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Hebrews 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
Hebrews 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
A few scriptures show that God has placed angels over you to minister to and deliver you.
And remember, angels appear sometimes as people.
Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
