A Gift for God

When you give to the poor and needy you are giving a gift to God.

When have you ever gave a gift to God?

This holiday is a time of giving and receiving.

For Christian, it’s a time we can give to those who are less fortunate than we are.

It is easy to find those who need help on this holiday. I think everyone has heard the saying what would Jesus do?

I’m sure many who attend Church they are not doing what Jesus would do. So this is your chance to do good this holiday, not just for yourselves or loved ones or even your friends, but for those who are less fortunate than you.

There are many ways you can help, like giving to a food bank, help at a soup kitchen, visit the elderly and feed them, help the homeless, give money to the poor and hungry.

The question is what would Jesus do this holiday?

Do you know there are over 9 million people who die of starvation in the world a year and most of them are children? There are over 800 million that do not have enough of the food they need to live an active, healthy life.

That is almost unbelievable since so many claims to be Christians in this world.

We can see that it takes more than attending a church once a week and just saying your a Christian to really be a Christian.

James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Many Pastors are falling short of what Jesus taught if they are not teaching their congregations it is time to give to the poor and hungry.

If you believe in God then it’s a great time to give to the poor and by doing that you are lending to God.

You have the opportunity to lend to God and he will pay you back.

Proverbs 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

When you give to the poor and needy you are giving it to God and when you don’t give to the poor and needy you are NOT giving it to God.

Matthew 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

Matthew 25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

Matthew 25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Matthew 25:42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

Matthew 25:43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
