Across the world, oppressive regimes are trying to stop Christianity. Some Christians risk their lives daily worldwide, suffering unspeakable abuse just for having faith in Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 3:17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
Examples of persecution of Christians worldwide, like in Nigeria, are attacks by Boko Haram and Fulani Islamic militants that have affected families and churches, leaving many Christians without spouses, parents, and homes. But the faithful continue to follow and serve Christ in Nigeria.
In India, Hindu extremists aim to cleanse the country of Christian presence and influence. The extremists disregard Indian Christians and other religious minorities as true Indians and think the country should be purified of non-Hindus.
Eighty-four million displaced Christians fleeing religious persecution worldwide. 5,898 Christians were murdered for being Christian in 2022; 6,175 believers were detained without trial, arrested, sentenced, or imprisoned, while 3,829 were abducted in 2022.
Afghanistan, which for years was usually ranked the #2 worst nation after North Korea moved to the #1 spot, Afghanistan is now the most dangerous place in the world to be a Christian.
Christian men are facing almost certain death if their faith is discovered. Women and girls may escape death but may be married to young Taliban fighters who want the spoils of war. After women and girls are raped, they are trafficked.
The incoming Taliban regime gained access to recordings and reports that helped to identify Christians. They were often detained to identify networks of Christians before being killed. Taliban fighters are still actively tracking down Christians from existing intelligence, sometimes going door-to-door to find them.
Afghanistan(#1), North Korea (#2), Somalia (#3), Libya (#4), Yemen (#5), Eritrea (#6), Nigeria (#7), Pakistan (#8), Iran (#9), India (#10), and Saudi Arabia (#11).
In these countries, Christians face persecution ranging from being harassed, beaten, raped, imprisoned, or slaughtered merely for being identified as a Christian or attending church.
The Extreme persecution of Christians in nine of these top 11 worst nations comes either from Islamic oppression or takes place in Muslim-majority nations. This situation means that 82% of the absolute worst persecution takes place in the name of Islam.
There is only one true God, the Christian God, and one savior, the son of God Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
Pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in the lord. Remember to pray for the people who are lost and serve their false religions.
