How to Overcome Fear Spiritually with Faith & Scriptures

Maintaining spiritual strength can be challenging in a time of fear. But remember, the answer is simple: Trust in God.

We are living in a time of fear and uncertainty. Fear captures our attention and makes us ready to fight or flee.

News outlets report on shootings, wars, violent crime, disease outbreaks, natural disasters, and more. As the end of the world approaches, the news will likely become increasingly dangerous and fearsome but hope and comfort are always in God.

Romans 12:2 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

Surviving in an age of fear requires studying and living the word of God.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

“Use the word of God to combat the fear that attempts to enter your mind.”

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God:
I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Hebrews 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

A Christian must overcome fear with love since love casteth out fear.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

When you love someone, your focus shifts from yourself to the person you love.

God is love, and we are in His Spirit, not in the spirit of fear.

1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

The Bible teaches us to communicate with God through prayer.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Uncertainty comes from not knowing what’s going to happen. But we do know who’s in control.

Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

So we can love, which drives out fear, and be certain that God is with us. He will help us through anything the devil tries to scare us with.

Christians experience the peace of God in their lives.

Romans 15:3 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
