Why Families Are Being Told to Prepare NOW

Households are urged to act immediately and prepare for a national crisis as part of a new government campaign.

To prepare for emergencies, stockpile three days’ worth of food and water and keep cash on hand in case electronic payments fail. Keep a printed checklist handy, along with a wind-up or battery-operated radio and a power bank to charge devices during outages. These steps can help you stay safe and connected.

The Secretary of State for Defense of Britain said the guidance is essential to preparing individuals for events such as wildfires, flooding, and cyberattacks. Furthermore, senior officials and military leaders have made it clear that there is a significant risk of sabotage and even an imminent strike by Russia.

Mr. Streeting emphasized that “everyone must do their part,” with a radio and social media campaign set to launch soon. However, the government’s approach has been disappointingly low-key, quietly activating the site despite earlier announcements that the campaign was set to launch imminently.

A critical security flaw has been discovered in PHP, the programming language used by most websites. As organizations worldwide rush to address it, Downing Street said no major UK public-facing critical services have been affected. However, 32 government websites have gone offline while teams work to resolve the issues.

Experts from the National Cyber Security Center are collaborating with OpenAI to identify vulnerabilities and address potential issues globally. At the opening of the UK Gun Hall Plant in Telford, Mr. Streeting asked the public, “Are you prepared for possible disruptions to essential supply chains from hostile state actors or terrorists?”

“What would we do if the payment systems at our local supermarket failed?” These everyday challenges highlight the need for national preparedness and individual contributions. The Be Ready website suggests keeping enough supplies to last three days to help people cope while assistance reaches those in need.

Each person should have three liters of drinking water daily, plus extra for cooking and washing. Stockpile long-lasting foods that don’t require refrigeration or cooking, like canned meats, fish, vegetables, and dried fruits and nuts. Choose foods you normally enjoy.

Keep blankets, sleeping bags, and warm clothing on hand, as homes can get cold quickly when the heating is turned off. Torches are preferred over candles because of the fire risk. Also, keep a mix of coins and notes available in case electronic payments or ATMs become unavailable.

“Keep cash on hand based on your family’s essential needs,” the site advised. “Have printed copies of important documents like passports and insurance policies. Also, get a wind-up or battery-powered radio and note the frequencies of local news stations to stay informed during outages.”

Families with babies are advised to use ready-made or “ready-to-feed” formula, as boiling water for powdered formula may not be safe. Britons should check their current supplies and list essentials, such as medical supplies, baby formula, and pet food. The site recommends gradually assembling an emergency stockpile.

“Make it a priority to pick up any missing items during your regular shopping trips to manage costs effectively,” the site emphasized. Households must “check regularly” and set a reminder every six months to replace expired items and update the kit as necessary.

Discuss extra support during outages with your neighbors and exchange contact information.

2 Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2 Timothy 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2 Timothy 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2 Timothy 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

2 Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2 Timothy 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Ephesians 5:11  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
