The World Turns Cold: People Have Lost Their Moral Compass

Society is experiencing a moral decline that impacts everyone, including those in power and everyday individuals. One can turn on the TV and see how widely accepted evil has become.

In the past, the Bible served as a moral guide for many, shaping individuals’ values and behavior within Christian churches. People looked to its teachings for positive examples in their communities.

However, in today’s society, the lines have become blurred. It has become increasingly difficult to distinguish between Christians and those who are sinners.

It seems that many individuals have lost their sense of morality, struggling to clearly differentiate between right and wrong.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

The Bible offers a moral compass that has guided countless individuals for centuries. Its teachings have provided a foundation for enduring morality and ethics.

Despite being the best-selling book of all time, it’s disheartening that many people today do not read or follow the Bible. If you’re looking for guidance and inspiration, perhaps it’s time to study the Holy Word.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is  God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Timothy 3:17  That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Across the globe, many churches have deviated from the core truths of their faith, increasingly filled with leaders and teachers who promote ideas contrary to biblical teachings.

This shift has led to  false teachings that misinterpret or outright contradict the scripture. As a result, the authentic messages of the Bible—messages that emphasize spiritual integrity, moral guidance, and the fundamental tenets of Christianity—have become diluted and distorted.

This troubling trend not only confuses believers but also undermines the foundational principles on which the church was built.

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2 Timothy 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2 Peter 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

In his letter to Timothy, Paul discusses the spiritual state of churchgoers during the end times.

While some individuals may present themselves as devoutly religious and a sense of godliness, he is specifically addressing those who regularly attend church services and identify as Christians. This distinction is important, as it separates them from individuals who are part of the world.

2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2 Timothy 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2 Timothy 3:4  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2 Timothy 3:7  Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2 Timothy 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

I believe these verses depict many individuals who attend church today. They may appear godly, but their godliness is merely superficial, which contradicts what the Bible teaches about true godliness.

Unfortunately, many people in churches tend to prioritize their personal pleasures over their love for God.

They study books about God but fail to grasp the truth of the Bible. They resist its teachings because doing so requires them to abandon worldly pleasures.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 John 2:16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

A large number of church pulpits are full of false teachers, and that leads to individuals in churches not understanding the Bible’s teachings, which has contributed to a troubling decline in moral standards worldwide.

Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work sin.
