“God’s absolute moral perfection and divine majesty make him the very embodiment of holiness. This very holiness makes him worthy of our devotion and adoration.”
Leviticus 11:44 For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am Holy:
The Hebrew term for ‘Sanctification’ or ‘holiness’ is ‘Kodesh’, meaning to be set apart.
The term “sanctification” refers to the process of separating oneself from the old ways of the flesh and dedicating oneself to God in Christianity.
Christians are separated from sin and the world but are made partakers of the divine nature through Jesus and are consecrated to the fellowship and service of God.
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
1 Peter 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

Christianity calls for a transformation of the individual. We must break free from worldly temptations and take on a new identity. By separating oneself from the distractions of this world, one can renew one’s spirit and become a holy version of oneself.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
As followers of Christ, we have a crucial responsibility to maintain our moral integrity and spiritual purity at all times. Our commitment to living a holy and blameless life should be unwavering, and we must strive to uphold these values in every aspect of our daily lives.
Let us not be swayed by the temptations of this world, but instead, let us stand firm in our faith and be a shining example of Christ’s love and righteousness to all those around us.
2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Christians are commanded in the Bible to live holy lives, to be separate because we are not our own and have been bought with a price.
1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
The will of God is for us to be sanctified. Let us strive to live a holy life, pursuing righteousness and resisting temptation. We honor God and His plan for our lives as we seek sanctification.
1 Peter 1:14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
1 Peter 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
“A holy life is a life that is devoted to serving God.”
“A holy life is one that no longer lives for oneself or the spirit of the world but instead lives for God and in accordance with His will. Such a life is characterized by a love for God, obedience to His commands, and a desire to consider and serve Him in everything.”
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
Holiness involves putting off and putting on.
The putting off concerns putting off the former person.
Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts.
By putting on a new person, you can transform into the person you want to be. Embrace the power of change and take control of your life.
