Paul’s Faith was the Greatest Victory

The authors of the Bible were divinely inspired by God to convey His words. Every scripture in the Bible is undeniably God-breathed.

The scriptures provide Christians with their doctrine, rather than church teachings. They offer instructions in righteousness for believers.

2 Timothy 3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

I’ve heard people speaking negatively about Paul on various online forums.

There is a movement on the internet known as the Hebrew Movement that asserts Paul’s teachings are false. Since Paul’s teachings contradict their beliefs, they reject his writings as a way to uphold their own false doctrines.

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2 Timothy 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.

When you speak evil of Paul, you’re speaking evil of the Holy Word. And when you speak evil of the word, you speak evil of God.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Paul, originally named Saul, was a man of God filled with the Holy Spirit. He belonged to the tribe of Benjamin and was of Hebrew descent, born to Pharisee parents.

Saul was fervent in his beliefs, which led to him becoming a religious extremist. He was present at the stoning and death of Stephen, and he actively sought out the church, entering house after house to imprison its members.

Saul encountered Jesus Christ while traveling from Jerusalem to Damascus. The Lord’s light blinded him. Through prayer, Saul received the Holy Spirit, regained his sight, and was baptized, becoming Paul.

The Apostle Paul dedicated his life to proclaiming the risen Christ Jesus throughout Rome. His love for Jesus was evident in his writings. He referred to himself as the least of the Apostles because of the damage he had done to the church.

Paul said he was of poor speech, but knew the knowledge of the truth. He said he served the Lord with all humility and with tears and with trials that happened to him.

He went on to write 13 letters, which are books in the New Testament.

Philippians 1:20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Paul was imprisoned in AD 61, during which time he wrote the letters of Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians.

He was released in AD 64 and subsequently wrote the letters First Timothy and Titus. Paul was imprisoned again in AD 66, during which he composed his final letter, Second Timothy. Shortly after that, he was taken to the execution block and beheaded.

Paul fought a good fight; he finished his course and kept the faith.

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Let all Christians embrace the light of the Word, allowing it to guide their every step on the journey of faith.

Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

We study the Word to be approved by God by rightly dividing the Word. We do this little by little, precept upon precept, and concept upon concept.

As you study the Bible, you will discover that verses are interconnected and each subject is explained throughout the text.

The Word of God is alive and works within us, revealing our innermost thoughts and desires to those who study it.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Word is God-breathed; our doctrine should be based on it, used for reproof as well as correction, and it is our instruction on how to be righteous.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
