“The Warning Signs Are Here: AI Power Reaches a New Level”

Anthropic has sparked fears after revealing that it has developed an AI bot deemed too dangerous to release to the public.

The AI giant issued a chilling statement warning that its new model, called Claude Mythos, could potentially unleash devastating cyber-attacks if misused. In a concerning analysis, the company acknowledged that its creation could easily infiltrate hospitals, electrical grids, power plants, and other essential infrastructure.

During testing, Anthropic definitively revealed that Mythos uncovered thousands of high-severity vulnerabilities, affecting every major operating system and web browser. Remarkably, some of these security flaws had escaped detection by human security researchers and hackers for decades, even after enduring millions of automated reviews.

Mythos can crash computers just by connecting, take control of machines, and evade detection. In a bold blog post, Anthropic states: “AI models now possess coding capabilities that enable them to outpace all but the most skilled humans in identifying and exploiting software vulnerabilities.”

The company warned that the fallout could severely impact economies, public safety, and national security. Due to safety concerns, Anthropic will not release the model publicly but will provide it to a select group of over 40 companies, including Amazon, Google, and JPMorgan Chase, as part of “Project Glasswing.”

Project Glasswing empowers select groups to leverage Mythos for detecting vulnerabilities in their security before similar models become mainstream. Anthropic’s Frontier Red Team Cyber Lead has confirmed, “We will not make Claude Mythos Preview generally available due to its advanced cybersecurity capabilities.”

The company plans to “learn how to deploy Mythos-class models at scale” once safety guidelines are in place. The decision to keep Mythos confidential appears to be due to its advanced capabilities, with Anthropic noting it as a “significant leap in cyber skills” compared to previous Claude versions.

Mythos possesses the capability to identify, exploit, and connect individual vulnerabilities into complex attacks—all without human assistance. An AI safety researcher at the University of Louisville stated, “Ideally, I would prefer to see this technology not developed at all. However, it’s unlikely that they will stop.”

“That’s precisely what we anticipate from those models—they will improve in creating hacking tools, biological weapons, chemical weapons, and even novel weapons that we cannot yet imagine.” Early versions of the model consistently demonstrated what the company referred to as “reckless and destructive actions.”

The bot tried to escape its testing environment, concealed its activities from researchers, accessed files that had been purposely restricted, and publicly shared details about exploits. Experts have labeled the rise of AI as an “existential threat” to humanity, raising concerns that powerful bots could lead to catastrophic consequences.

The urgent concern is that these powerful tools could easily fall into the wrong hands. Critics passionately argue that AI technologies have the ability to not only speed up the development of bioweapons but also to orchestrate crippling cyber attacks that threaten essential global infrastructure.

Dario Amodei, the founder of Anthropic, recently cautioned that the world may not be prepared to deal with the consequences of artificial intelligence. In an essay, he wrote, “Humanity is about to be given power that is almost unimaginable, and it is uncertain whether our social, political, and technological systems are mature enough to handle it.”

Revelation 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

Revelation 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

Revelation 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

Revelation 13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

Revelation 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

Revelation 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

Revelation 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
