Some Bible verses have been confirmed as true through scientific evidence.
Isaiah 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in.
Science has confirmed that the Earth is round, despite some conspiracy theories. The Bible also supports this, stating, “He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth.”
Job 28:5 As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.
Job 28:5 firmly supports the notion that the Earth’s core is hot, declaring: “The earth, from which food comes, is transformed below as if by fire.”
Job 26:7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
For anyone looking for biblical support regarding the Earth’s suspension in space, Job 26:7 clearly states: “He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.” This verse firmly affirms the concept of the Earth being held in place in the vastness of the universe.
Ecclesiastes 1:7 All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.
The hydrologic cycle, or water cycle, is a well-known process mentioned in the Bible. Ecclesiastes 1:7 notes, “All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again.”
Amos 9:6 It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The Lord is his name.
Job 36:27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:
Job 36:28 Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.
Amos 9:6 states, “He calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out over the face of the land.” Similarly, Job 36:27-28 notes, “He draws up the drops of water, which distill as rain to the streams; the clouds pour down their moisture, and abundant showers fall on mankind.”
Psalm 135:7 He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.
Psalm 135:7 presents another illustration: “He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth; he sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.”
Genesis 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Genesis 6:14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
Genesis 6:15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
The story of the Great Flood and Noah’s Ark is well-known in the Bible and may be based on real events, as suggested by geological evidence. In Genesis 6:13-22, God gives Noah specific instructions.
The ark is described as being three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high. Physics students at the University of Leicester calculated in 2014 that these dimensions are accurate, indicating the ark could have floated and transported pairs of all animal species during the flood.
Jeremiah 33:22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.
Each galaxy can contain up to one trillion stars, and the universe has approximately 100 billion galaxies.
The Bible references this in Jeremiah 33:22: “I will make the descendants of David, my servant, and the Levites who minister before me as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.”
Corinthians 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
The Bible acknowledges that stars have different levels of brightness: “The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another, and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.” Both science and Scripture now show that stars and other celestial bodies can die.
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
The scripture Matthew 24:35 states, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”
Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Hebrews 11:3 says, “By faith we understand that the universe was created at God’s command, so that what we can see was made from what is not visible.”
The similarity between the Bible and atoms is notable. Protons, neutrons, and electrons are invisible to us, yet atoms form the basis of nearly all substances, including our existence.
1 Samuel 17:50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.
The story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17 illustrates that even a small boy can conquer a giant. While not the most powerful weapon, the stones from the Elah Valley, made of dense barium sulfate, could have harmed Goliath.
Goliath, being a giant, may have had acromegaly, which could have caused visual impairments like limited peripheral vision and given David an advantage.
Psalm 104:6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
Psalm 104:6 states:”You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.”
Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
Many of us know the biblical story of Adam and Eve. However, humans have a female biological ancestor called Mitochondrial Eve, who existed before our species, Homo sapiens.
All living creatures share a common bond: blood. “For the life of a creature is in the blood, given to you for atonement at the altar.”
Leviticus 13:1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, saying,
Leviticus 13:2 When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, a scab, or bright spot, and it be in the skin of his flesh like the plague of leprosy; then he shall be brought unto Aaron the priest, or unto one of his sons the priests:
In Leviticus 13:3 And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean.
Leviticus 13:4 If the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and in sight be not deeper than the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague seven days:
Leviticus 13:5 And the priest shall look on him the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague in his sight be at a stay, and the plague spread not in the skin; then the priest shall shut him up seven days more:
The Bible advised isolating an affected person for seven days, and if there’s no improvement, for another seven days.
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The Word is God-breathed, our doctrine should be based on it, used for reproof as well as correction, and it is our instruction in how to be righteous.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Timothy 2:15 “Study” to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts.
Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
