All Senate Democrats voted against a measure on Wednesday that would have mandated life-saving treatment for babies who survive an abortion.
The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act did not pass because it failed to secure the necessary three-fifths majority in the Senate, which is 60 votes. The motion to advance the bill, known as cloture, failed with a vote of 52-47.

According to The Hill, Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) did not cast a vote due to a family emergency. With 47 Democrats voting against the bill, there will be no debate on it, and their filibuster will remain in place, preventing the pro-life measure from proceeding to a final vote.
The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act would require doctors and healthcare workers to provide the same level of medical care to infants who survive abortions as they would for infants born during normal childbirth.
Federal legislation exists to ensure that babies who survive an abortion receive medical assistance, but there is no criminal enforcement to punish those who fail to provide life-saving care. Senators James Lankford (OK), Katie Britt (AL), and Jim Banks (IN) introduced a bill just before the March for Life, the largest pro-life demonstration in the country.
“No child should be denied care because they are considered ‘unwanted.’ Currently, if an abortion fails and a baby is born alive, doctors can ignore the child and allow them to die from neglect.”
“That’s not an abortion; that’s infanticide,” stated Senator Lankford.
“Every Senate Democrat voted against my bill with Senator Lankford to provide lifesaving care for newborns who survive abortions. This isn’t about politics; it’s about human dignity,” said Banks.
“The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act would ensure that any baby born, including those who survive abortion attempts, receives necessary medical care and would combat policies that enable infanticide.”
“I will continue to be a voice for the voiceless and support mothers and families,” Britt said. “This bill should not be controversial; we should all agree that a baby born alive after an attempted abortion needs protection. Yet, I expect my Democratic colleagues will not support it. Ultimately, they oppose medical care for newborns who survive abortions out of fear.”
They fear that recognizing the humanity of a living, breathing baby in an abortion clinic may lead to acknowledging the humanity of the unborn baby in the same clinic. As Thune remarked, “Once you recognize the humanity of the newly born baby, it becomes a little harder to argue that this child wasn’t human just a few minutes ago, simply because he or she wasn’t yet born.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, between 2003 and 2014, there were 143 documented cases of infants being born alive after an abortion. However, the actual number is likely higher, as most states do not keep records of how many infants are born alive following an abortion.

Only the evil ones will Jesus come back as a thief in the night because the Christians will be watching for the return of Jesus.
