Trump Pardons Pro-Life Activists ahead of March for Life rally

March for Life rally is on January 24, 2025, IN Washington, D.C. The right to life is a human right. Our defense of that right is a joyful witness to the beauty and dignity of every human person.

The March for Life is an inspiring, peaceful, vibrant, and joy-filled rally of women, men, young people, and children across the country. Every year, tens of thousands of pro-lifers converge in Washington, D.C., and march on Capitol Hill.

Pray for the unborn!

President Trump decisively pardoned 23 peaceful pro-life protesters today, asserting that they were unjustly targeted for prosecution by the Biden Administration.

In signing the pardons, Trump firmly declared the actions taken against these individuals as “ridiculous.” He stated, “Twenty-three people were prosecuted, and there is no justification for their prosecution. Many of these individuals are elderly, and they should never have been subjected to such unfair treatment.”

“This is an immense honor to sign this,” he declared. Earlier that day, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) took a firm stand on the Senate floor, condemning the prosecutions of pro-lifers as a “dark period in our history” and a “grotesque assault on the fundamental principles of our nation.”

He unequivocally supported Trump’s plan to pardon pro-life prisoners, asserting, “He has the power to correct the injustices inflicted by the last administration. He must renew the commitment enshrined in our Constitution.”

It is crucial to uphold the liberty of conscience, which guarantees everyone’s right to follow God and practice their faith freely and peacefully. The pro-life prisoners currently behind bars were exercising this fundamental right.

Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) emphatically called on Trump in a video posted earlier this Thursday to take action and release these prisoners. Among them is 89-year-old Eva Edl, a determined pro-life activist and a survivor of a communist concentration camp in the former Yugoslavia. It’s time to stand up for their freedom.

“Biden unjustly prosecuted pro-lifers, including an 89-year-old concentration camp survivor, for simply singing hymns in a clinic hallway,” Hawley declared on X. “At the same time, he had the audacity to grant pardons to criminal murderers on his last day in office. President Trump must and can rectify these grave injustices.”

The Thomas More Society recently wrote to President Trump, asserting that the defendants they represent have been “unjustly imprisoned.” They noted that these individuals found encouragement in Trump’s campaign messages urging them to persevere until he could review their cases. The pardons are being issued just as tens of thousands of pro-life supporters prepare for the March for Life in Washington, D.C., on Friday.

President Trump will deliver a video message at tomorrow’s march, while Vice President JD Vance will address attendees in person, marking his first public appearance since taking office. This year’s theme is “Life – Why We March,” focusing on the dignity of every individual and the resources available for mothers and children.

A memorial was held in Washington on Wednesday prior to the March for Life, organized by “Faith and Liberty,” a Christian ministry, which hosted a “Prayer and Remembrance” vigil near the Supreme Court.

They placed 3,000 flowers on the sidewalk in front of the courthouse, symbolizing the estimated number of daily abortions in the U.S. Speakers shared prayers and Bible verses about the sanctity of life. Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, pro-life Americans continue to gather annually in Washington, D.C., for the March for Life. In the past three years, 23 states have tried to enact complete abortion bans, but courts have blocked these measures in at least six states.
