Many people who attend church do so out of habit, without undergoing a true transformation to become Christians.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
“The Church consists of the people, not the building.”
Progressive Churches reinterpret the Bible because they teach that times change, and so does the teaching of the Bible; this way, they can accept evil movements of the modern world.
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
The Hebrew movement teaches that the Old Testament is only the Word of God, which is false.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
They teach that the Gospel is only for Jesus’s time and that Paul’s writing is completely false, which wrote most of the New Testament. They have the Spirit of Antichrist.
They teach you must keep the law which is 613 commandments which is false teaching.
Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Galatians 6:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Galatians 6:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 6:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Modern-day church services are mostly held once a week, in the morning, with one or two services lasting an hour or two. Many have a traditional service that is closer to old-time services and a contemporary service with worldly music.
Contemporary is used to describe the music included in the service, which is not of God but loud, annoying, and worldly.
Contemporary service PowerPoint presentations and videos are used instead of Bible reading and talks rather than sermons. Some have even used lights, fog, and the big stage.
Some contemporary services think of doing your own thing, avoiding anything done in “traditional worship,” including hymns and prayers.
If a church has to bow down to worldly ways to fill seats, then they are progressive and false.
Many churches have no revivals, and if there is a revival, it’s once or twice a year. Most churches stay closed all week and open one day a week. The problem with churches is that God is not there, so why would he be?
Some churches offer coffee and donuts, video games for children, etc. This is why they are empty or closed.
The congregation is voting on all these worldly ideas. Many churches are filled with sinners and hypocrites who do not know Jesus but serve themselves.
The failure in churches starts in the pulpit.
Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.
Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served themselves more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Whatever happened to the churches of yesterday?
The churches of yesterday were held on Sunday morning and Sunday night. Most held Church at least two more times a week, not including days for Bible study and other activities.
The service would last 3 to 4 hours, sometimes longer. Instead of singing to the congregation and entertaining them, they sang songs about God and to God.
They preached on sin and the lake of fire, but in most churches, those two words are not used because they might offend someone.
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Revelations 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Afterward, they would pray, either on their knees or at their seats, for hours.
Psalms 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.
The teaching emphasized the importance of holiness and the spreading of the Gospel.
2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
“Individuals gathered in the church to uplift their fellow brothers and sisters and engage in reverent worship of Jesus.”
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Almost everyone brought their Bible to church, and you could easily see that it was being thoroughly studied due to the wear and tear and the numerous notes and scriptures inside.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Today most don’t have a Bible, or most don’t bring it when they come to church.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Conversations were centered on the profound teachings of the Bible, steering clear of trivial gossip or fleeting sports scores.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Seats were all taken, and some people had to stand. The revival was held multiple times throughout the year, and everyone was encouraged to invite their neighbors, family, and friends.
When a revival takes place, the members fervently pray for the lost and actively reach out to invite people.
People in churches used to feel a pull for the lost. Christians used to go door to door and witness, and they passed out tracts at shopping centers and store parking lots.
2 Thessalonians says that the church must fall away from the truth before Jesus returns, and as we can see, that has already happened. It also teaches that there will be false teachers in the pulpits.
2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 Peter 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
In numerous churches and on television, preachers are distorting the truth by twisting the scriptures and speaking evil of the truth of the Bible.
Revelation 3:16 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Matthew 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
Matthew 15:8 draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Matthew 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
1 Peter 4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
Jude 1:3 That ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
