Remarkable Discovery about Jesus’ Resurrection by 2,000 Year Manuscript

The Bible says Jesus was crucified, rose from the dead on the third day, and appeared to his followers nearly 2,000 years ago. People are always looking for proof that Jesus resurrected from the grave.

I believe the proof is in what the disciples did after he was crucified. They knew whether Jesus rose from the dead and was the Messiah, or whether he didn’t rise and wasn’t the Messiah.

We have evidence that all the disciples were persecuted and died for preaching that Jesus died and rose from the grave. Therefore, they knew that if he had not, no one would die for a false Messiah.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation that compelled each of His disciples to willingly sacrifice their lives for the Gospel. Having witnessed His miraculous return from the dead firsthand, they were firmly convinced that He was the Messiah.

This transformed their understanding and strengthened them, leading them to boldly proclaim His teachings and spread the message of salvation, even in the face of persecution and death.

Their unwavering faith and commitment were rooted in the certainty of what they had seen and experienced, making them witnesses to the truth of Christ’s resurrection.

John 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

John 20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Luke 24:46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day

1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

A researcher has identified a nearly 2,000-year-old text containing a first-century account of Jesus appearing alive after his crucifixion. This passage is attributed to Flavius Josephus, a non-Christian Jewish historian who wrote around AD 93-94.

The passage known as the Testimonium Flavianum appears in “Jewish Antiquities,” which is Josephus’s history of the Jewish people. It states: “He appeared to them alive again on the third day, as the divine prophets had foretold, along with many other wonders about him.”

Spanish researcher compared Greek, Latin, Arabic, and Syriac texts to identify their original wording. The Latin, Arabic, and Syriac versions all describe Jesus appearing alive to his followers after the crucifixion.

The Greek account says Jesus rose on the third day, linking the event to biblical prophecy, while the Latin states that “he appeared to them alive on the third day.”

He proposed that the wording could reflect an earlier passage in which Josephus recorded what Jesus’s followers claimed to have witnessed. The study examines four versions of this passage, preserved in Greek, Latin, Arabic, and Syriac.

On the third day, he appeared to them alive again, as the divine prophets had foretold these and countless other wonders about him. In other writings, Josephus recorded the beliefs and reports of Jewish religious groups without necessarily endorsing them himself.

The Latin indicates that Jesus was believed to be the Messiah; the Syriac states he was considered the Messiah.

He is more confident that Jesus’s followers still existed at the time of the historian. The wording and subject align with Josephus’s writing style, and the versions show no significant disagreement at that point.
