The Largest Naval Show of Force in Years Is Now Underway

The U.S. Navy has ordered the aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford to leave the Caribbean and join the Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group near Iran.

The deployment follows concerns about Iran’s military activities and instability in the Middle East. President Trump previously announced the imminent deployment of a second American aircraft carrier to the region.

“If there’s no deal, we will need it. If we have a deal, we can shorten it. It will be leaving soon.”

We have one ready that has just arrived. Reports indicate that the USS Gerald R. Ford, a U.S. Navy nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, will cross the Atlantic to join the USS Abraham Lincoln in the region.

Once Gerald Ford arrives, the U.S. will have two aircraft carrier strike groups, 15 destroyers, several submarines, and over 600 Tomahawk missiles in the region.

These ships deliver powerful offensive and defensive capabilities, featuring robust anti-aircraft defenses and precise missile strikes.

On February 12, the President warned that the U.S. is prepared to take decisive action if Iran does not comply with its demands, stating that a failure to reach a nuclear agreement could lead to a “very traumatic” outcome.

We need to reach an agreement, or the consequences will be traumatic. They should have negotiated earlier instead of ending up with Midnight Hammer. If Iran doesn’t make a deal, it will be very damaging.

“Look, if they don’t reach a deal, the situation will change,” Trump said. Last week, U.S. forces intercepted an Iranian drone near the USS Lincoln while Iran attempted to stop a U.S.-flagged vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.

Reports indicate that the U.S. military is preparing for potential long-term combat operations against Iran, pending a presidential order. Two U.S. officials confirmed plans for a possible weeks-long campaign.

Concerns are growing that diplomacy may fail. A White House spokesperson stated this week, “President Trump has all options on the table regarding Iran.”

She stated, “He weighs various perspectives but decides based on what is best for our country and national security.”

Last year, amid rising tensions, the U.S. sent two aircraft carriers to the region during the June strike on Iranian nuclear sites, called “Midnight Hammer.”

The operation was a single-phase attack executed by U.S. stealth bombers. In retaliation, Iran effectively carried out a limited strike on a U.S. base in Qatar.
