Russia nuclear bomber intercepted by US warplanes: WW3 fears explode

US fighter jets intercepted Russian nuclear bombers this month, while President Trump warned Putin that heavy sanctions would follow if the war in Ukraine did not end.

This follows Moscow’s increasingly aggressive rhetoric towards the West, threatening nuclear conflict while showcasing military strength through naval drills involving warships in the Baltic, Pacific, and Caspian Seas.

Nikolai Patrushev, a confidant of Putin and former intelligence chief, recently expressed outrage at the idea that NATO could quickly take control of the Russian-surrounded region of Kaliningrad.

This comes in the wake of a doomsday map revealing major US cities that could be destroyed within the next 75 years.

Patrushev criticized the West’s ambitions to undermine Russia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity through military means. “We have long been aware of the West’s intentions regarding Kaliningrad,” he stated.

“The Kaliningrad region is a crucial part of Russia, and any military intrusion will be met with an immediate and decisive response using every force and resource at our disposal,” he asserted.

On July 22, NORAD detected Russian military aircraft, prompting the scramble of American F-16s. Two Tu-95 Bear bombers and two Su-35 Flanker jets were operating in the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).

The Russian aircraft operated exclusively in international airspace and did not encroach upon American or Canadian airspace. This activity by Russia within the Alaskan ADIZ is routine and is unequivocally not considered a threat, according to officials.

“An ADIZ clearly delineates the boundary where sovereign airspace concludes, establishing a vital area of international airspace that mandates the immediate identification of all aircraft to safeguard national security,” stated NORAD.

NORAD employs a comprehensive defense network that includes satellites, ground-based and airborne radars, and fighter aircraft to detect and track aircraft within North America. NORAD stated, “We remain prepared to use a variety of response options for the defense of North America.”

Trump has issued a stark warning to Putin, threatening to impose severe secondary tariffs on Moscow if they do not reach a resolution to the war with Kyiv within 50 days. “At the end of 50 days, if we don’t have a deal, it will be regrettable,” Trump stated. “The tariffs will be implemented along with additional sanctions.”
