Analysts are increasingly worried that China and Taiwan may soon go to war, as tensions between them have escalated in recent months.
A senior research fellow at the Institute for National Strategic Studies outlined three compelling “perfect storm” scenarios that could lead to war between the communist nation and the democratic island.
In a September opinion article for Foreign Affairs Magazine, Wuthnow asserted that the conflict over Taiwan could be classified as a “war of choice.” He emphasized that Beijing may opt to use military force to capture Taiwan after a thorough assessment of the economic, military, and political risks.
“An aggressive action taken without any explicit provocation would demonstrate that Chinese leaders have assessed the situation and believe they can seize the island with minimal cost,” he asserted. Alternatively, Beijing could very well initiate what he described as a “so-called war of necessity.”
If China perceives that Taiwan has committed a significant political infraction that poses a permanent threat to its control over the island, it could lead to a serious response. For instance, a formal declaration of independence from Taipei would likely provoke a military response from Beijing, regardless of the potential costs.
Wuthnow’s third possibility should not be overlooked; in fact, it is increasingly likely. This scenario involves a potential war between China and Taiwan triggered by an accident or miscalculation that could easily spiral out of control.
“The risks associated with a potential war are considerable, especially compared to other regions of the world, partly because the military forces of both sides operate in proximity to each other.
Furthermore, the domestic political dynamics on both sides of the Taiwan Strait complicate the situation, making it challenging for either side to back down.”The U.S. intervention in support of Taiwan presents a significant risk of escalating a minor conflict into a larger war.
Beijing consistently sends warplanes and naval vessels toward Taiwan, intensifying these operations significantly in recent years. On Monday, the Chinese military undertook military drills alongside the island, declaring them a “stern warning” directed at separatists and any “external interference” forces.
The live-fire drills were executed by air, navy, and rocket forces. Taiwan firmly announced that it is placing its military on high alert, stating unequivocally that the Chinese government is “the biggest destroyer of peace.”
The drills were conducted in response to Beijing’s anger over what could be the largest U.S. arms sale to Taiwan. This follows a statement by Japan’s Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, indicating that Japan’s military could intervene if China were to take action against Taiwan. China maintains that Taiwan must be brought under its control.
China is known as the “Red Dragon”. Could this be the Dragon of Revelation in the Bible?
Revelation 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
Revelation 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Revelation 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
Revelation 12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
