Russia threatens NATO as nuclear bombers deployed in chilling warning

Vladimir Putin has deployed strategic nuclear bombers as the UN warns of a looming Third World War, while the UK strengthens NATO’s eastern front against a possible Russian attack.

The Russian president has deployed Tu-22M3 aircraft, raising concerns from the UN Security Council about a possible global conflict. Footage shows airstrikes on a “simulated” enemy and targeting critical infrastructure, with Bastion complexes in the Arctic’s Franz Josef Land also using Onyx missiles.

Putin taunted the West by deploying nuclear-capable Iskander missile launchers near the Polish border. This follows an incident where Russia sent attack drones into Polish airspace, which were shot down on Tuesday night with help from NATO allies.

Poland has closed its border with Belarus due to UN Security Council warnings about a potential world war. In response, NATO is enhancing its eastern defenses, with the UK and its allies, including France and Germany, participating in an upcoming military operation called “Eastern Sentry.”

The operation will strengthen NATO’s position and enhance its flexibility. A Ministry of Defense spokesperson said, “The UK is fully committed to NATO’s Eastern Sentry following Russia’s reckless airspace violations.”

We will share more details on the UK Armed Forces’ contribution soon. Putin’s deployment of nuclear bombers is part of the Zapad-2025 exercises, which test the defensive readiness of the Union State alliance between Belarus and Russia. These drills are seen as a challenge to NATO.

The war games will involve troops practicing nuclear missile use in Belarus, Russia’s authoritarian neighbor. Preparations are underway to deploy the Oreshnik ballistic missile there, near NATO members Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Ukraine.

The road was closed for the deployment of Iskander-M missiles, which have a range of at least 310 miles and can carry nuclear warheads of 10 to 50 kilotons. This puts NATO capitals like Warsaw, Vilnius, Riga, and possibly Tallinn and Berlin within range.

Moscow did not explain the deployment of Iskander-M missiles, which appear to be part of the Zapad-2025 war games with Belarus. Ukraine’s UN representative warned that if Putin’s escalation continues, “tomorrow it could be drones or even missiles falling on Berlin, Paris, or London.”

Putin has expressed disinterest in settling the war, with his spokesman stating that peace talks with Ukraine are on ‘pause.’ President Trump has threatened sanctions but demands that NATO countries halt purchases of Russian oil first.

Russia and Belarus recently conducted joint military exercises involving approximately a dozen warships from Putin’s Baltic Sea Fleet. The drills included Su-30SM and Su-24M aircraft, as well as Mi-8 helicopters, and focused on anti-submarine warfare, air defense, mine countermeasures, and missile and artillery strikes against a mock enemy.

The exercises involved various naval vessels, including landing ships, corvettes, and submarines. Russia deployed ships from its Northern Fleet in the Arctic, led by the anti-submarine vessel Severomorsk.

Additionally, Russian tank crews conducted live-fire exercises at the Borisovsky training ground in Belarus. In response to the Zapad-2025 war games, Poland and NATO allies have increased their forces to about 40,000 troops near the Belarus border.

The Chief of the Belarus General Staff warned, “We are closely monitoring all military activities near our borders and are prepared to counter any provocations that may arise during Zapad-2025.”
