Do you tell the truth, or do you lie? Do you lie when it’s convenient? Are you prone to exaggeration?
People need to understand that the news media and most, if not all, politicians are liars which makes them of the devil.
It’s important to be honest. If you have lied, it’s never too late to repent. Repentance means changing your heart and mind.
One must always uphold truth to be considered a child of God, as lying makes one a child of the Devil.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began
Jesus is full of the truth.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
The Devil is the father of lies, which means you are a child of the devil if you lie, not a child of God.
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it .
If you tell the truth, you are pleasing to the Lord, but if you lie, you are an abomination to Him.
Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
The Bible teaches we are to be new people in Christ and the old person is dead.
Colossians 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.
Proverbs 13:5 A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.
Proverbs 14:5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
Proverbs 19:9 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.
Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
