I can’t emphasize the “most important” thing you can do on earth, is to make sure you have eternal life.
The Bible says to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Many people don’t take eternal life as very important, so many will not have eternal life, and only a few find it.
Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Everyone knows that every person dies. When you go past a graveyard, all those graves are full of people who lived on earth, and now their life is over, and judgment is next. Their dreams and hopes and even their possessions are not important anymore.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Eternal life is a long time, and everyone should make sure they are going to the right place. If you’re not saved or just lukewarm, eternal life is the one thing you will wish you had put more time into after you take that last breath.
The scriptures are where we get our doctrine from; it is our instructions to eternal life, not a denomination or a certain preacher or what people have made up in their own minds.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Have you worked out your salvation with fear and trembling, or are you a once-a-week churchgoer?
Matthew 7 says they will say to Jesus I prophesied, cast out devils, and done many wonderful works in your name, and Jesus will say I NEVER KNEW YOU, depart from me, ye that work sin. How could this happen? How could people who go to church think they are saved but are not?
It should warn everyone that they should go to the Bible and ensure they have eternal life.
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work sin.
Revelations 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Revelations 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
Revelations 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Revelations 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Revelations 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
John 12:38 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
