Why the Holy Bible is the Best Selling Book Year after Year

The Bible is an immense seller.

The Bible is unequivocally the best-selling book in history, with more than 6 billion copies sold, showcasing its unparalleled influence across the globe.

Every individual who owns a Bible possesses an extraordinary treasure of immense value—one that can provide guidance, comfort, and wisdom throughout their life and even extend beyond their earthly existence.

This sacred text is not merely a collection of stories and teachings; it serves as a source of inspiration, moral insight, and spiritual growth, encouraging readers to reflect deeply on their beliefs and values.

The Bible is the sacred and authoritative word of Almighty God, encompassing teachings, stories, and divine revelations that have shaped moral values and spiritual beliefs throughout history.

We achieve holiness by immersing ourselves in and living out the teachings of God.

James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Christians are the Temple of God, a sacred dwelling where the divine presence resides. This concept is that each believer, through their faith and actions, serves as a vessel for God’s love and teachings,  reflecting His light in the world.

Just as the ancient temple was a place for worship and connection with God, Christians are called to live in a way that honors this sacred relationship.

1 Corinthians 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are

People take the words of God for granted, not apprehending that at their fingertips is the words breathed by God and given to the writers of the Bible, by the Spirit of truth.

Reading the Bible gives you words spoken by God and helps you understand His thoughts on many subjects. What a wonderful gift has been given to humanity!

When you open the Bible, remember that it is an opportunity to hear from God.

It is through hearing the Word that everyone is drawn to Christ.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

The Bible teaches how beautiful the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace are.

Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!

The unfortunate reality is that less than half of practicing Christians in the U.S. engage seriously with their Bible, according to the American Bible Society, and the situation for the rest of the country is even worse.

The American Bible Society provided findings from a six-year assessment conducted by the Barna Group, revealing that only 18 percent of the overall American population reads the Bible.

Some people do not believe the Bible and categorize it as just another book or fairy tales. However, they also view it as a dangerous text.

The Bible has 66 separate books, written over 1,600 years, by at least 40 authors.

The Old Testament contains 39 books written from approximately 1500 to 400 BC.

The New Testament contains 27 books written from approximately 40 to 90 AD.

Around 40 AD and through about 90 AD, the eyewitnesses to the life of Jesus, including Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, James, Peter, and Jude, wrote the Gospels, letters, and books that became the Bible’s New Testament.

They quoted from 31 Old Testament books, and their material became so popular that by around 150 AD, early Christians referred to the entire collection of writings as the New Covenant.

But what makes the Bible the most wonderful book given to humans is that it is God-breathed.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Proverbs 2:6 For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Immerse yourself in the Word of God with passion and earnestly seek Him with all your heart.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

To be a true disciple of Jesus, you must actively engage with the Bible and continually follow His teachings, allowing them to guide your thoughts, actions, and lifestyle.

John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

You must be born again by the word of God to see the kingdom of God.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Christians experience a transformative rebirth through the powerful word of God.

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

Another reason it’s the most wonderful gift given to humans is that the words within it are alive.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
