The answer is to forgive! Anyone that you have not forgiven has control over you. They have a spot in your heart and mind that causes anger and resentment, which you are bound by their offenses to you.
That bondage they have put you in can only be broken by forgiveness. When you forgive, you are set free.
Everyone knows that forgiveness is the right thing to do. It’s only that famous word “I” that stops it. People who don’t forgive are being lied to by the devil, so he can torture you repeatedly with those offenses that a person did to you and take your peace from you.
Another great reason to forgive is your Father will not forgive you your trespasses.
Matthew 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
How many times does the Bible say to forgive?
Matthew 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
Matthew 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
The reason God sent his son to die for our sins was forgiveness.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The central theme of the Gospel is the message of forgiveness.
Mark 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Colossians 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another if any man has a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
One of the first step to eternity with God begins with forgiveness. To forgive must be an important part of our daily lives.
Forgiveness can affect every life, every relationship, every marriage, every family, and it must start with us, the Christians.
When we forgive, it’s one example of being Christ-like. So we as Christians can restore broken relationships, repair hopeless marriages, heal hurting families, unite divided churches.
So let us start today and forgive others and be like Christ.

Luke 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
