People Have Lost Their Moral Compass

It’s become increasingly apparent that a moral decline has taken hold of both those who wield power and the everyday person. The need for a shift in behavior and values has never been more crucial.

By simply turning on the TV, one can witness the depths of evil humanity is capable of.

Years ago, people filled Christian churches, using the Bible as their moral compass and setting an example for others to follow.

Today, you can’t tell the difference between the so-called Christian and the sinner.

They talk like the world, they look like the world and go to the same places as the world. People have lost their moral compass of what is good and evil.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

The Bible teaches us the moral compass that guides us through our lives. It is a source of truth that has stood the test of time, and it provides us with the guidance we need to lead a Christian life.

Although the Bible remains the top-selling book, many people neither read it nor abide by its teachings.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is  God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Timothy 3:17  That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Churches around the world have fallen away from the truth and are full of false teachers speaking evil of the truth. It has become a watered-down, deranged version of the true teaching of the Bible.

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2 Timothy 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2 Peter 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of

Paul describes the condition of many churchgoers during the end times in Timothy. He points out that these individuals may profess to be Christians and attend church regularly, but their behavior does not truly reflect godliness. This warning is directed towards those within the church community rather than those outside of it.

2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2 Timothy 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2 Timothy 3:4  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2 Timothy 3:7  Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2 Timothy 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

I believe these verses describe many people who attend church today. They may appear to be godly, but it’s only an outward show, not a genuine reflection of what the Bible teaches about godliness. Furthermore, there are many individuals in churches who prioritize their love for pleasure over their love for God.

They are ever learning from books that are supposed to be about God but not learning the truth of the Bible. They resist the truth because they have to give up worldly pleasures.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 John 2:16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work sin.
