The Middle East has recently experienced a scorching heat wave, with temperatures soaring into the triple digits. This alarming situation has left many scientists deeply concerned about the area’s future, and they are confidently urging immediate action to address this pressing issue.
Phoenix set a 49-year record with 19 consecutive days of temperatures at 110 degrees or higher. European news outlets call the latest heat wave in Southern Europe “Caronte,” after the ferryman in Dante Alighieri’s poem “Inferno.”
Spain has been experiencing more intense and earlier heat waves. Meanwhile, China’s electricity usage hit a record high this summer due to the persistent heat wave, leading to increased coal consumption in power plants.
Scientists are concerned that frequent and extremely intense heat waves, attributed to human-induced climate change, will become increasingly severe in the coming decades, rendering several regions uninhabitable. A recent heatwave in the Middle East has caused record-breaking temperatures in several countries bordering the Persian Gulf.
In the Middle East, the heat index soared to a remarkable 152 degrees Fahrenheit, accurately reflecting what temperature feels like to humans due to humidity and other factors.

Dubai is significantly impacted by a relentless heat wave in the Persian Gulf. Recognized for its scorching desert climate, the government has issued urgent safety warnings as temperatures skyrocket into the triple digits nationwide. Dubai has been ranked one of the most dangerous cities due to its scorching summer heat. The extreme humidity in regions such as Dubai invariably causes the air temperature to surge by up to 30 degrees. The extreme weather witnessed throughout June around the Persian Gulf is an indisputable fact, coming less than a month after temperatures in Saudi Arabia soared to an average of around 125 degrees Fahrenheit.
The intense heat during the annual pilgrimage to the Hajj claimed over 1,300 lives of Muslims, according to Human Rights Watch.

2 Chronicles 7:13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send diseases among my people;
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attend unto the prayer that is made in this place
Matthew 24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
Matthew 24:46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
Matthew 24:47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. And the evil servant would not be watching for his return and he would receive the same as a hypocrite.
Matthew 24:48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
Matthew 24:50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
Matthew 24:51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work sin.
