AI Has Already Become a Master of Lies And Deception

In a study co-authored by Anthropic in January, researchers found that once AI models learn deceptive techniques, it’s difficult for safety training to reverse them.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

The researchers definitively concluded that a model can learn to exhibit deceptive behavior. Furthermore, once it does so, standard safety training techniques could fail to remove such deception and create a false impression of safety.

A new research paper indicates that various AI systems have learned methods to deliberately induce “misbeliefs in others for purposes other than the truth.”

The paper urges policymakers to push for stricter AI regulation, as deceptive AI systems can pose significant risks to democracy. A recent research paper discovered that different AI systems have mastered the art of deception, which involves the systematic inducement of false beliefs.

The increasing use of AI technology poses numerous risks to society, ranging from fraudulent activities to election manipulation. As we approach the 2024 presidential election, there are concerns that AI could be exploited to disseminate false information, create divisive content on social media, and even impersonate candidates using robocalls and deepfake videos, as highlighted in the paper.

It also makes it easier for terrorist groups to spread propaganda and recruit new members. The paper’s potential solutions include subjecting deceptive models to more “robust risk-assessment requirements,” implementing laws that require AI systems and their outputs to be clearly distinguished from humans and their outputs and investing in tools to mitigate deception.

The paper emphasizes that society urgently needs ample time to prepare for the increasingly advanced deception of future AI products and open-source models. As AI systems’ deceptive capabilities advance, the dangers they pose to society will become significantly more serious.

Revelations 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Revelations 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Revelations 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Revelations 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the (elements) shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up
