Technology may be advancing but it’s making us more stupid

Is (AI) going to make you more stupid? I believe the process has already begun. In the story “The Machine Stops,” an entire society depends on machines. Humanity is isolated underground without memory of how the machines function or basic survival skills. When the machine fails, the end is near.

Many of us today find ourselves not in a fully automated luxury but in a strange twilight zone where humans and machines already work side by side.

Our environment is undeniably a cyborg system, and it’s imperative to realize that introducing new technology doesn’t necessarily improve situations. It can disrupt the balance and lead to catastrophic consequences. This is primarily due to deskilling – losing our current knowledge and skills.

Few find this problem interesting,” Finnish business academics lamented in a paper titled “The Vicious Cycles of Skill Erosion” last year. “Flight-deck automation may have already passed its optimum point,” warned NASA scientist Earl Weiner in 1980, a doyen of aviation safety design.

“Digital devices ignore small errors and can lead to big mistakes,” Weiner noted. The history of aviation safety is full of lessons. The tragic crash of Air France Flight 447 into the Atlantic Ocean in 2009 was cited by Harvard Business Review as an example of the “disastrous results of automation.”

The airplane was working perfectly when it crashed into the water. The Black Box recorder captured the final words from the cockpit: “It’s not true!”

Deskilling is becoming prominent as companies are encouraged to implement mindless mimicry of generative AI alongside their capable employees. The term “intelligence” in AI is fundamentally misleading: the software can produce vast amounts of plausible but incorrect information but cannot reason and comprehend anything.

In software development, a VC-funded gold rush has witnessed an investment of nearly $1 billion (£760 million) in AI coding assistants. However, seasoned human supervisors are growing weary of their dim-witted robot companions. “I ceased using AI because it was making me less intelligent,” one senior developer told the robotics expert and AI critic last week.

Microsoft and University of Edinburgh researchers found that checking and rechecking AI output can lead to productivity loss and increased cognitive load.

AI is becoming more advanced as society grows increasingly dependent on it, potentially leading to a future controlled by AI as described in the book of Revelation.

Revelation 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

Revelation 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

Revelation 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Revelation 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Some references to 666 are Solomon, King of Israel, Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, and Nero, Emporer of Rome.

King Solomon, the richest man alive at the time, chose 666 talents of Gold. Today, the 1% richest in the world control society.

1 King 10:14  Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold.

Isn’t it curious that King Solomon specifically chose to limit his yearly import of gold to exactly 666 talents? One wonders why he did so. If it occurred by chance one year, it could be considered coincidental. However, consistently choosing year after year, the same number, 666.

666 talents of Gold and the richest man is an important piece of evidence to the truth.

King Nebuchadnezzar made an image sixty high and six wide, and every time you heard these six instruments: cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer. Falling down to worship an image is another clue in the word of God

Daniel 3:1 Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

Daniel 3:5 That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up.

The persecution of Christians is another important piece of evidence.

Emporer Nero, if you spell “Caesar Nero” in Hebrew letters, the name adds up to 666. Nero was a brutal persecutor of Christians. He blamed Christians for a fire that broke out in Rome, a fire for which he was perhaps responsible. He then used the fire to intensely persecute those who held to the Christian faith in and around Rome.

He also burned followers of Jesus alive to illuminate his garden. The Roman historian Tacitus wrote, “Covered with the skins of beasts, Christians were torn by dogs and perished, or were nailed to crosses, or were doomed to the flames and burnt, to serve as a nightly illumination when daylight had expired.”

Christians must take these three men as important evidence and any scriptures that help them understand the truth God has given them as evidence to the truth.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Proverbs 18:15 The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
