Russia has threatened the United States with World War 3

Russia warned the West about the potential consequences of allowing Ukraine to use Western missiles to strike deep into Russia. It cautioned the United States that a potential World War Three would not be confined to Europe.

Ukraine has seized territory in Russia’s western Kursk region in the largest foreign attack on Russia since World War Two.

President Vladimir Putin firmly stated that Russia would deliver a fitting response to the attack. Sergey Lavrov, who has faithfully served as Putin’s foreign minister for over 20 years, vehemently expressed that the West is provoking escalation in the Ukraine war and is “asking for trouble” by entertaining Ukrainian requests to relax restrictions on using foreign-supplied weapons.

Ever since the invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Putin has adamantly warned about the looming risk of a far-reaching conflict that could embroil the world’s major nuclear powers. He has emphatically stated that Russia has no intention of engaging in a conflict with the US-led NATO alliance.

“We are reiterating that handling nuclear weapons is incredibly dangerous. It’s like allowing children to play with matches. This behavior is concerning for the responsible adults in some Western countries,” stated Lavrov to reporters in Moscow.

Russia’s 2020 nuclear doctrine outlines the circumstances under which its president would consider using a nuclear weapon. These include responding to an attack involving nuclear or other weapons of mass destruction, or in the face of a conventional weapons threat that puts the very existence of the state in jeopardy. Additionally, Russia has alleged that Ukraine has utilized Western weaponry, such as British tanks and US rocket systems, in the Kursk region.

Kyiv has indeed confirmed the use of U.S. HIMARS missiles to destroy bridges in Kursk. Washington asserts that it was not informed about Ukraine’s plans prior to the surprise incursion into Kursk. The United States emphatically denies any involvement in the operation.

Putin’s foreign intelligence chief, Sergei Naryshkin, stated on Tuesday that Moscow rejected Western claims that it was not involved in the Kursk attack. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov also asserted that the United States’ involvement was “an obvious fact.”

The New York Times definitively reported that the United States and Britain provided Ukraine with satellite imagery and other critical information about the Kursk region in the immediate aftermath of the Ukrainian attack. This intelligence was intended to ensure Ukraine’s vigilant monitoring of Russian reinforcements.
