The stark reality is that the sheer number of surveillance cameras in America is alarming, matching the density found in Communist China.
Police departments in major cities like New York and Los Angeles actively use these cameras in conjunction with facial recognition technology to monitor citizens indiscriminately, raising serious concerns about privacy and civil liberties.
You are unknowingly sharing your personal information, including your location, preferences, and even details about your mental health. Data brokers collect and sell every click, purchase, and “like” for profit, contributing to a booming digital advertising market valued at nearly one trillion dollars. Even the sensors in your car tires can be used to track your movements.
Data brokers sell personal information to researchers, marketers, companies, and government organizations. As a result, it’s tough to avoid the logging and surveillance associated with modern technology. This phenomenon is often referred to as “surveillance capitalism.”
The internet has transformed into a surveillance prison, tightly controlled by private companies and data brokers eager to exploit our personal information. These app developers invade our privacy, meticulously collecting data from our contacts and calendars. They know intimately about our social circles, revealing how deeply they intrude into our lives.
They know your location, and this information is for sale. Your data is also sold to law enforcement and the federal government. A tool called “Fog Reveal” lets police track “patterns of life,” potentially without a warrant. Furthermore, the government exploits a loophole in the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to monitor Americans illegally.
License plate readers are cameras that capture images of your vehicle’s license plate and details such as color, make, and model. This information is uploaded to a central database, recording where and when the vehicle was seen. Police officers can enter a license plate number to find a history of camera observations, sometimes going back many years.
There is no justification for retaining data collected from everyone, regardless of its links to crime. A Duke University study revealed that data brokers sell lists of individuals with mental health conditions, such as depression and PTSD, sourced from medical apps and websites. A constitutional attorney contends that this practice violates the Constitution’s unreasonable search and seizure ban.
“The Fourth Amendment is essentially dead. With access to personal information on our phones and laptops through ‘predictive policing,’ authorities are monitoring our every move. This issue should unite the political Right and Left, as we’re all losing crucial constitutional protections. Regardless of your stance—be it gun rights or Palestinian rights—if you care about something, surveillance will undermine your rights.”
The key question is whether Americans can reverse the surveillance state. Data harvesting is now vital to the economy, and little action is being taken against it. Recent legislation only protects Americans’ data from being sold to certain foreign governments.
Consumers should be aware that most apps collect data for sale, so they should be cautious with location permissions. It’s wise to use encrypted messaging and non-tracking search engines. Users can also delete their advertising ID and seek services to remove their data. For meaningful privacy reforms, more Americans need to demand change from Washington.
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Americans have lost many of their freedoms and now can only be spiritually free inside if they serve Jesus and the truth of the Bible, which no person can take away.
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Romans 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and diseases; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
