Oceans absorb more than 90% of the excess heat from the climate, and they are reaching record-high temperatures.
The global average sea surface temperature reached a record high of 69.73 degrees Fahrenheit on July 31, according to a dataset maintained by Copernicus, the Earth observation component of the European Union’s Space program.
Record ocean temperatures cause stronger storms, displace and kill fish populations, stress coral reefs, lead to massive growth of harmful algal blooms, and, in the long term, cause sea-level rise.
The oceans absorb the overwhelming majority of the heat caused by global warming, creating serious consequences for life in and around them, including humans.
Once the tipping points began, there was no stopping them since they just kept going like a domino effect until the end.
“The oceans do a lot of the work in reducing the level of warming,” said a Brown University professor of earth, environmental, and planetary sciences.
That shows why a small change in ocean temperature means the oceans have been absorbing massive amounts of heat.
Currently, the global ocean is experiencing a “marine heatwave,” according to the chief scientist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The most powerful storms on earth, hurricanes, and tropical and extratropical cyclones extract much of their energy from warm, moist air near the ocean surface. Hotter seawater means warmer, more humid air, which releases more energy, leading to stronger storms.
“All species have a preferred and a lethal temperature range. Once the upper border of the preferred temperature range is reached, they go deeper or poleward to cooler waters, if they can,” said a senior scientist at the Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research in Germany.
“Already at the upper tolerance range, growth and reproduction are hampered. At the upper lethal range, they die.” Fish will migrate towards colder waters if they can. Fish in Florida will be found in New York waters, and fish in New York waters will migrate to Nova Scotia.
Hot ocean temperatures are ravaging coral reef populations, which are critical to marine ecosystems. About a quarter of marine species depend on coral reefs in some capacity.
A false teaching is that Jesus will come as a thief in the night. He will indeed return as a thief in the night, but a “thief unto whom” is where the “lie” is.
The “false teachers” teach that he will return as a thief in the night to “everyone.” The Bible differs from these prophecy teachers on this subject.
In Thessalonians 5, the Bible teaches Jesus will “ONLY” return as a thief in the night unto “those who are in darkness and asleep.”
The “true Christians will be awake and watching” for the “signs” and “know by the signs” when Jesus will return.
The ones in darkness will be asleep and “not watching” for the “signs” of Christ’s return.
So Jesus will “return as a thief in the night” unto those that are “not watching” that are in “darkness and asleep.”
1 Thessalonians 5 says that the watchers, Christians, are “NOT” in the darkness that day should overtake them as a thief.
1 Thessalonians 5:4 But ye, brethren, are “NOT” in darkness, that “THAT DAY SHOULD OVERTAKE YOU AS A THIEF.”
1 Thessalonians 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
1 Thessalonians 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but “LET US WATCH” and be sober.
1 Thessalonians 5:7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
1 Thessalonians 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
2 Chronicles 7:13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send diseases among my people;
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attend unto the prayer that is made in this place
Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and diseases; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
