Living in the End of the World with Artificial Intelligence

What will our lives look like once artificial intelligence becomes a part of our daily lives? Will it be a blessing or a curse? The recent developments in AI are both cause for celebration and concern, as the industry progresses without sufficient regulation. The launch of ChatGPT has put a powerful AI tool in our hands, and most of us never expected it to be so advanced.

The development of AI technology raises several ethical concerns, as well as the very real possibility that robots will soon be taking over our jobs. However, AI could also be used for incredible advancements in medicine, technology, and education, improving our quality of life. Autonomous vehicles will be able to travel with zero direct human intervention, which could create more demand for travel and transport while paradoxically reducing the need for drivers.

In 2017, Google discontinued Google Glass, but in 2019, Google announced the Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2. The smart glasses aim to help users make better decisions and avoid risks. Siri and Google Assistant already provide instant answers to questions and can perform tasks on our devices. With features designed to mimic human skin tissue and other human characteristics, could we eventually mistake robots for humans and vice versa?

Remember Aibo, the robot dog invented by Sony? Its offspring could become popular among pet lovers, especially those who are not fond of the downsides of owning a real pet. Additionally, consider the impact of artificial intelligence on our politics. Google DeepMind’s AI has already surpassed humans in playing Go, a Chinese board game with a history of over 2,500 years, and continues to advance in chess as well.

AI could replace human partners and play a significant role in healthcare. For example, developers are adding artificial intelligence to intimate dolls, and AI could assist in detecting cancer more accurately than the human eye using MRI technology.

AI can assist with paperwork and administration, handling tasks like bill payments and taxes. In smartphones, AI can automate tasks, enhance user identification, recognize emotions, understand speech, and enable augmented reality. Smart speakers can sense emotions and select music accordingly. AI-enhanced smartwatches can help make better health decisions using data like heart rate and blood pressure.

Thermostats with AI can adjust room temperature based on occupants’ habits. AI robots in factories can perform complex tasks. AI aims to teach computers to think independently. The rise of AI has sparked fierce debate.

The discussions often involve the loss of employment and raise moral questions. A recent incident with a self-driving car has brought ethical concerns to the forefront. Should self-driving cars prioritize the safety of their passengers over avoiding pedestrians, or vice versa? Deep learning is an endless machine-learning method for robots, but there are arguments for imposing limits on it.

The argument is that as robots learn from humans, they can be influenced by humanity’s negative traits. Microsoft’s chatbot Tay was taken offline due to posting inflammatory content. OpenAI introduced ChatGPT in November 2022, followed by a more advanced version called GPT-4 in March 2023. These AI chatbots can mimic human conversation and even generate essays and stories, potentially impacting future job roles.

Revelations 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

Daniel 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and diseases; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
