Hunger Pandemic coming upon the earth

With 270 million people more than the entire population of Western Europe marching toward starvation, the head of the World Food Programme called for greater action to avert a hunger pandemic.

Failure to address their needs will cause a hunger pandemic which will pass the impact COVID-19.

And if that’s not bad enough, out of that 270 million, 30 million depend on us 100 percent for their survival.

Five regions of South Sudan are at risk of falling into famine early in 2021. One in every three people in Zimbabwe is facing a food crisis.

Over 2 million people in Somalia need urgent food aid. After 10 years of war, a record of 9.3 million Syrians requires food support. Lockdowns and restrictions introduced to curb the spread of the virus have contributed to an explosion in the hunger crisis:

People have had no way to earn an income and do not have access to any social welfare safety net.  Local markets were closed for a prolonged period meaning farmers could not sell their goods.

Border closures have led to a shortage of key materials including seeds. The price of these materials has increased as a result. School closures have meant that millions of children have not been able to access school feeding programs they rely on.

The impact of Covid-19 has been devastating for the world’s poorest people.

People haven’t been able to plant crops, sell goods at local markets, or access school feeding programs. Millions of people who may have been earning less than $1 a day before the pandemic are now earning nothing at all.

It’s time for the Christians of the world to give to the poor and show God you are a real Christian and not just one who honors him with your mouth.

Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

When you do it unto one of the least, you have done it unto Jesus.

Matthew 25:35  For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

Matthew 25:36 Naked and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Matthew 25:37  Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

Matthew 25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

Matthew 25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

Matthew 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

James 1:14  What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

James 1:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

James 1:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

James 1:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

James 1:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

James 1:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

James 1:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
