Changing your Life for the better

If you want to change your life, you must change your thoughts. If you want to be a Christian, you must change your thoughts.

This is what the Bible has to say about changing your thoughts to be a Christian.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

A Christians’s reasonable service is to live a life that is a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.

Romans 12:2 And be not “conformed” to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The word “conformed” in Greek means to fashion like. So the scripture is teaching not to be like the worldly people of this evil world.

We are “transformed” when we study the word of God. The word “transformed” in the Greek is metamorfow which we get the word metamorphosis. Metamorphosis is what a caterpillar does when it turns into a butterfly.

So likewise as we study the word we change from the old sinful ways unto the new person who is like Jesus.

Another way the scriptures teach this is:

Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Be renewed in the spirit of your mind. How do we do that? By changing our conversation of the old person and changing into the new person by studying the Bible and filling our minds with righteousness and holiness.

Another way the Bible teaches it is:

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.

1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

You must be born again by studying the word of God and letting the Bible ways become your ways.

The Bible says it this way as well:

2 Corinthians 2:14 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

And again the inner man will not change until you change those thoughts over to the thoughts that are taught in the Bible.

Colossians 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.
