Comet C/2014 UN271, known as Comet Bernardinelli-Bernstein, is a remarkable celestial body measuring about 80 miles in diameter, significantly larger than Rhode Island.
Its nucleus is an astonishing 500 trillion tons, making it about 100,000 times more massive than the majority of comets. Furthermore, this comet is barreling through space at an impressive speed of 22,000 miles per hour and is on a trajectory that brings it closer to Earth.
The ancient comet will make a strikingly close pass to Earth in 2031.
