WW3 panic as NATO scrambled F-16’s ”Russia violates airspace”

NATO member Romania swiftly deployed F-16 fighter jets following reports of Russian airspace violations during drone attacks on Ukraine over the weekend.

On Sunday morning, Romania’s Ministry of National Defence reported a clear violation of its territory as a Russian drone entered its airspace. This transgression coincided with alleged Russian strikes on “civilian targets and port infrastructure” in Ukraine, just across the Danube River.

The Romanian defense ministry swiftly deployed F-16 fighter jets to “monitor its airspace,” while keeping NATO informed about the unfolding events.

Meanwhile, residents in two Romanian regions near the Danube and Ukraine border were promptly alerted via text messages about the situation.

The drones are suspected to have created an “impact zone” in an uninhabited area near the Romanian village of Periprava. The defense ministry has launched a full investigation into the matter.

Just hours after a Russian drone reportedly crashed in Latvia, near Rezekne on Saturday, Latvia’s defense minister Andris Spruds suggested that the drone likely originated from Belarus, a key ally of Russia in the region.

Romania has urged Russia to reduce tensions following airspace breaches. There are fears of an escalation to World War III. A Russian propagandist and a supporter of Putin warned of potential nuclear war if Ukraine’s invasion of Kursk continues.

Global tensions are not solely driven by Russia. Analysts believe that the US is facing potential conflicts with Russia, China, and Iran, which could lead to a ‘three-front war’. Three potential flashpoints have been identified: Russia-Ukraine in Europe, Israel-Palestine in the Middle East, and China-Taiwan in Asia.

Last month, Taiwan’s President, Lai Ching-te, emphatically warned about the looming threat of a Chinese invasion of the island. He firmly stated that an attack on democracy would have a more profound global impact than the war in Ukraine or the COVID-19 pandemic.
