An imminent Israeli response to the Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorist movement in Lebanon is expected following the group’s rocket attack on a children’s soccer field. The attack resulted in the deaths of 12 young people and injuries to 29 others.
At the break of dawn on Monday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reportedly conducted a precision drone strike in southern Lebanon, targeting a specific location. The strike resulted in the fatalities of two Hezbollah militants.
The aftermath of the strike was evident as a black flag was seen flying at the site where the rocket landed the previous night. The impact of the powerful rocket caused a shallow crater in the ground and blew out the metal fence surrounding the area, leaving a visible mark of the force unleashed during the strike.
Shrapnel holes mar the area, while burnt bicycles and scooters lay scattered outside the fence. The IDF has not commented on the recent strike. The strikes followed a three-hour cabinet meeting authorizing the military response to the lethal Hezbollah attack.
“Israel’s new ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, stated that Israel’s response will be swift, harsh, and painful. He mentioned that targets are currently being identified and expressed confidence that Hezbollah will learn its lesson in the next few days. Additionally, he clarified that Israel does not intend to engage in a full war.”
“The Secretary Antony J. Blinken reaffirmed the United States’ ironclad commitment to Israel’s security against threats from Iranian-backed terrorist organizations, including Hezbollah. He emphasized the importance of preventing escalation of the conflict. He discussed efforts to reach a diplomatic solution to allow citizens on both sides of the border between Israel and Lebanon to return home.”
French President Macron assured Netanyahu that France is fully committed to preventing further escalation in the region by contacting all parties involved in the conflict. Unlike Germany and Britain, France has not classified Hezbollah’s entire movement as a terrorist entity.
Israel and the U.S. have urged France to designate Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. As a result, Air France, Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, and Eurowings have suspended flights to and from Beirut due to the expectation of a major war.

The Druze trace their ancestry back to the Biblical figure Jethro, the father-in-law of Moses. Israeli Druze holds senior positions in public and military life, and the bond between Jewish and Druze soldiers is known as the “covenant of blood.”
“Blinken confirmed that Hezbollah fired the rocket from Lebanon. U.S. National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson stated, ‘Lebanese Hezbollah conducted this attack. It should be universally condemned.'”
Israel’s Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant stated that Hezbollah “will bear a heavy price for their actions.” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “Our response will come, and it will be harsh.”
“Hezbollah-linked media was the first to report Hezbollah boasting about the attack. However, once the brutality of the attack became clear, the terror group later claimed it was not them who did it. The Israelis squarely put the blame on the U.S.-designated terrorist group.”
