Scientists fear that the sixth extinction has already begun. A team led by a Professor from the University of Hawaii that new mass extinction has already begun.
“Denying it is simply flying in the face of the mountain of data rapidly accumulating, and there is no longer room for skepticism, wondering whether it is happening,” argues the study.
A mass extinction occurs when around 70% of animal and plant life ceases to exist. In other words, it’s a global catastrophe where biodiversity and the ecosystem are up for grabs.
A good example of the sixth mass extinction is the disappearance of bees and butterflies around the globe. The collapse of the bumblebee population also affects humans.
The bees are not only responsible for honey, but also pollinate crops such as tomatoes or berries. Without them, less food is produced.

National Geographic reports that over 450 species of butterflies in the US Southwest are also disappearing. Butterflies are also crucial to pollinate many plants and flowers, affecting the food chain and the entire ecosystem.
That’s not even considering the inordinate use of land and raw materials, affecting or destroying ecosystems. The effects of deforestation in the Amazon Jungle are a good example.

In Hosea, the Bible gives a prophecy to Israel, which I’m sure applies today to the end of the world.
Hosea 4:1 The LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
Hosea 4:2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
Hosea 4:3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and everyone that dwelleth therein shall languish=lose or lack vitality; grow weak or feeble, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
